MAX offers integrated training and education in the field of HPC developments and in the computational materials science domain. We recognize that the skills gap is critical issue, especially in view of future developments of the field towards the exascale, and contribute to bridging such gap.
Our offer includes specific workshops and schools on HPC applications in computational material sciences, contributions to University courses and materials at both undergraduate and graduate level, and the possibility of training through research in the CoE labs.
Specific training activities for industrial end-users are offered as a dedicated service.
Starting from February 2020, due to the limitations related to the COVID-19 pandemic, the modalities of the training offer have deeply changed. Consequently, the entire training activity of MaX has been reshaped to organize schools and hackathons only on online digital platforms. While these changes have required a great effort in preparing the online training material and shifted the usual modus operandi adopted to teach and learn, MaX online training activities helped remove travel barriers, overcome logistical limitations, and expand the audience of students. The following booklet collects all the online events organized by MaX in 2021, mainly focused on the theory, implementations, and use of the most widely used MaX flagship codes (Quantum ESPRESSO, Siesta, Yambo, Fleur, AiiDA) in the HPC environment.
