Lavoisier Discussion on “Quantum Simulation"

LAVOISIER discussions will focus on the exchange about recent progress and challenges in modelling “exciton physics, thermal transport/thermoelectric and magnetic/spin proximity effects”. The participants will address recent advances in modelling excitons in two-dimensional materials, as well as the study of thermal transport and thermoelectrics in graphene and van der Waals heterostructures. The modelling and impact of proximity effects between magnetic, strong spin-orbit coupling and other 2D materials will be also the focus of the meeting.

The meeting will be framed within the LAVOISIER discussions organized by GDR graphene & nanotubes network with the support of ICN2  and the European centre of excellence MaX – Materials design at the Exascale.

Among the MaX codes are Yambo, Quantum Espresso and Siesta will be attending the event presented by the following MaX management:
Daniele Varsano (CNR Nano), Zeila Zanolli, Ramon Cuadrado (ICN2) and Nicola Marzari (EPFL).

LAVOISIER discussions on “Quantum Simulation” will be held from 8-9 of May 2019, in ICN2 (Bellaterra, Barcelona).
