Materials Cloud is a recognized data repository of Open Research Europe

MaX is pleased to inform that Materials Cloud is suggested as "stable and recognised open repository in the field of Materials Science" by  Open Research Europe (ORE), the new publishing platform of the European Commission.

Materials Cloud is an Open Science Platform offering educational, research, and archiving tools; simulation software and services; and curated and raw data. It is a non-profit service, developed and supported by the Swiss NCCR MARVEL and MaX Centre of Excellence, as well as by a number of other partners.

Open Research Europe is the new open access publishing platform for the publication of research stemming from Horizon 2020 funding across all subject areas. The platform makes it easy for Horizon 2020 beneficiaries to comply with the open access terms of their funding and offers researchers a publishing venue to share their results and insights rapidly and facilitate open, constructive research discussion.

Open Research Europe requires open access to research data supporting articles under the principle ‘as open as possible, as closed as necessary’, according to the policy of Horizon 2020. Data should be deposited in data repositories following  FAIR Data Principles

Materials Cloud has all the required features and it is recognised as a stable and recognised open repository in the field of materials science.

Materials Cloud joins a wide range of data repositories, representing research data from across the entire scientific spectrum. Upon publication, Materials Cloud will ensure the data is made freely accessible and preserved for the long term benefit of the research community.
